Central Institute of Petrochemicals Engineering & Technology (CIPET), under the Department of Chemicals & Petrochemicals, Ministry of Chemicals & Fertilizers, Govt. of India Institute. The Institute operates in hubs & spokes model in the areas of Academics, Technology & Research (ATR). The Institute is spread across the 39 centres in all over India. CIPET has established 03 nos. of R&D wings School for Advanced Research in Petrochemicals (SARP) : 1. Advanced Research School for Technology and Product Simulation (ARSTPS) was established at Chennai, 2. Laboratory for Advanced Research in Polymeric Materials (LARPM) was established at Bhubaneswar & 3. Advanced Product and Design Development Research Laboratory (APDDRL) was established at Bengaluru respectively. The main objective for setting up of this specialized Institute is to develop manpower in different disciplines of Plastics Engineering & Technology. CIPET is a premier Academic institution for higher & technical education fully devoted in all the domains of plastics viz:- Design, CAD/CAM/CAE, Tooling & Mould Manufacturing, Production Engineering, Testing and Quality Assurance.

School for Advanced Research in Petrochemicals (SARP) – LARPM is an exclusive R&D wing of Central Institute of Petrochemicals Engineering and Technology (CIPET) established at Bhubaneswar caters to Synthesis of Novel Polymeric Materials to various multi-dimensional R&D in the areas of Structural Composites/Nano composites; Smart Coatings and Adhesives, Membranes for Energy Storage & Harvesting, Additive Manufacturing, Biopolymers, E-Waste Recycling, Bio-degradable Polymers etc. as well as Technology Transfer.
